| Top-loading refrigeration boxes provide a better cold performance, as well as a lower power consumption: as cold air goes down and warm air goes up, opening the lid liberates the warm air while cold air remains trapped in the bottom. |

Seawater cooling system: "Self-Pumping" system |
| 12-24 V |
 |
A refrigeration unit consists in 3 elements:
• The evaporator removes the heat from the refrigerated cabinet.
• The compressor monitors the gas circulation between the evaporator and the condenser.
• The condensing unit cools down the gas coming from the evaporator. |
Lack of air circulation is a frequent issue on a boat, in particular in the bilge and lockers where ambient air can get very hot and ventilation is non-existent.
Seawater is permanently cool and easily available; that is the basic principle which prevailed to the development of the Self-Pumping system.
The Self-Pumping system consists in a seawater cooled condensing unit, mounted on the galley sink thru-hull outlet; the condensing unit brings the gas in contact with seawater to be chilled instantly.
The thru-hull condenser must be placed below the waterline, so as to be permanently immersed.
The boat's motion creates a regular water circulation around the hull, which quickly evacuates the heat. This cooling process is natural, quiet-running and energy-saving: it requires no pump and no fan.

 |
A refrigeration unit consists in 3 elements:
• The evaporator removes the heat from the refrigerated cabinet.
• The compressor monitors the gas circulation between the evaporator and the condenser.
• The condensing unit cools down the gas coming from the evaporator. |
The condensing unit must be installed in a well ventilated compartment, as low as possible in the boat. As cold air enters from below and hot air
is allowed to escape above, the lower the installation, the more efficient the unit will be.
If necessary, it is possible to add a fan to accelerate the renewal of cold air on the condensing unit, particularly during the process of cooling
down to the right temperature.

| REFRIGERATION UNITS |
Automatic Start-Up System |
| 12-24 V |
 |
A refrigeration unit consists in 3 elements:
• The evaporator removes the heat from the refrigerated cabinet.
• The compressor monitors the gas circulation between the evaporator and the condenser.
• The condensing unit cools down the gas coming from the evaporator. |
The ASU system features a holding plate which stores the energy when it is available in abundance, either from the engine alternator or from the shore.
The surplus energy stored in the holding plate is consumed gradually as needed, bringing the insulated unit or box to the right temperature.
When the cooling energy is consumed, the compressor runs off the board batteries to maintain the appropriate cooling level. This allows real savings on the energy supply available on board. It can operate off a solar panel or wind generator, thus offering total independence from the batteries. |
