Anti Fray netting is a mesh fabric sewn into the fly of the flag.
It provides added protection to the fly hem, creating a barrier thatbears the brunt of the forces associated with the whiplash of a flyingflag.
It is intended that the anti fray netting should break down underthese forces (rather than the hem), therefore providing an opportunityto make simple routine repairs to the flag rather than the more costlyrepairs or replacements associated with broken hems, tears ordegradation of the base material.
Due it's success, it has become a common tool used on landscape andportrait flags that are either flown continually, or are in particularyexposed areas.
